Check it out…
I must say I was about freakin’ out when I realized I thought I lost all my sidebar links and stuff when I made the switch to the new theme. And I found one of my favorite pictures works out well for the header. I love this picture because it’s got my favorite (and only) fancy teacup and saucer, a stack of New Year’s photo cards (yes, one daughter is red-haired, one is blond and one is brunette) because I didn’t get my act together in time to send out Christmas photo cards…and to be perfectly honest, I love the idea of sending out a card that can be kept up the whole year instead of just one month (or less) and a family newsletter and the stack of envelopes for those real life friends I actually sent them too. See, I DO have real life friends, they’ve just become scattered to the winds by life circumstances and I see them most of them only about once or twice a year.
I’m so thrilled with the new layout and the new picture, especially since I was in the mood for a change and I was getting annoyed with the tabs being half-hidden by the search box. This layout is much better.
Hey you! I like your new format too. What’s the name of it? I have a wordpress blog that I haven’t done much with because it was just taking me too long to figure out how to do stuff in it but I really like this format so I may give it another try.
I hope you’ve been well. I’ve got a lot of catching up to do!
Jennaviere! OMG I’ve been wondering how you’ve been (duh, I should have emailed you to make sure you were okay! I’m such a terrible e-friend).
Oh, yeah, the name would be helpful, wouldn’t it? It’s Twenty Ten – the 2010 default theme. But the picture in the header was one of my own.
Yes, I’ve been well, with the exception of being extremely worried about my friend and his family in TN. I FINALLY heard from Papa T this morning. He and his family are okay…his wife is sick though, perhaps from being in hip-deep water trying to evacuate.
I saw that — oh no! Here in Alabama we didn’t get near the amount they got, but a twister or two did come through. Still, nothing like Miss or Tenn.
I’ve been struggling with what turns out to be a seizure disorder whilst trying to raise three kids alone and finish a semester! Now I’m controlled on meds and I have a month off so all is wonderful! I have been catching up on your sciencey stuff and I can’t wait to dissolve an egg shell and other fun stuff with my kids this summer.
We have also been observing our backyard habitats, and I have too many photographs to number of all our creatures. I am hoping to finish a post today about the wrens and the tadpoles in our pond (that used to be our pool). And like I said, I can’t wait to try out some of the stuff on your other site. And if it doesn’t bother you, steal some of it for my own blog! (with proper reference of course) 🙂
But I want to figure out a way to sort out some of the more kid-friendly or kid-oriented stuff and the stuff about me just ranting out my opinions on things, you know, heh heh. Eh, once I get it figured out it will be time to go back to school so I don’t know…
Anyway, great to be back and I look forward to catching up!
Jennaviere
Oh, my goodness…you’ve been through an enormous amount of stuff. Um…I think I’ll email you to ask about why you are raising your children alone…you don’t have to share that on the blog.
I’m glad the meds are working and that you get a bit of a break. I’ll keep you in my thoughts.
I’m off for now…gotta get ready to pick up middle daughter from kindergarten because I spent a while posting about the flooding.
